Chapter One, The Void Princess.
Born the eldest daughter to Lord Valtheron Rose, Velvet Rose was the heir to Noctem Castle. She was promised a life of luxury that many Void creatures would never know.During this time, she was trained in the arts of Void Magic and Military Combat. Under the guidance of many skilled fighters and scholars Velvet quickly became the General of Noctem Castle as well as its heir. Her legacy was set in stone when the lesser lords rose up to attempt to overthrow her father in what became known as the Night of a Thousand Fangs. Velvet singlehandedly withheld the lords and slayed every last one that would dare attempt to attack her father and her city. After the battle she became known as "Silver Fangs" The Defender of the King.
While her training took her far from her home, she was lucky to have four sisters that would protect the Castle as well as she had. Of course they were never meant to inheret anything, but, they managed to obtain the four main gates into Noctem Castle. This was on the betrayal of Magistrate Sevryn Duskbane, during this rebellion her sisters stated that the Border Lords were conspiring to assist in the Duskbane Rebellion and saught to destroy the authority of the throne once and for all. The year of fighting was by far the most costly warfare that had ever happened inside the lands of Castle Noctem.The Duskbane Rebellion ended when Lord Valtheron crowned himself a proper king and seized all power from the lower lords, giving the gates to his four youngest daughters.This was the beginning of the end times. Peace was shaky and those still loyal to the Rebellion amassed and attempted time and time again to gain the power they once had to combat Valtheron. This never came of course and the security of Noctem became the most important thing in the Void, Lord Valtheron made this statement, a year after the crushing of the Duskbane Rebellions:
"Dearest Citizens of Noctem Castle.It is I, your most ever loving, Lord Valtheron Rose. I come to you filled with hope, for Noctem is now in a position of great promise and power. The four gateways, once ruled by a Lord or Lady respectfully have come into the sway of me.
The other Lords and Ladies found that given our recent betrayal of Magistrate Sevryn Duskbane their loyalty would be better shown by allowing me full power over our lands. They have departed to other areas in the Aether to carry out my will.
Rest assured that whatever rumors of their disappearance was a direct punishment of the betrayal of the Magister are unrelated and there will be actions taken against any that continue such awful rumors.Now, In regards to the changes of Noctem Keep and the surrounding lands, there will be an increase of guards around Noctem to ensure that the people are safe, of course. Please, do not give them any reason to suspect you as an enemy of Noctem Castle.Given the rise of missing Void Servants, we also request that any lower born Void servants are properly documented at your local Servant Offices. We would hate for a lowerborn to be scooped up and away in the daily cleaning of our city and her local townships.In other news, my four daughters, Selene, Lilith, Vespera, and Morwenna have been dispatched to the border gates almost immediately. Please remember, attempting to leave the gates without proper documentation is strictly forbidden. Anyone caught outside the walls of the area will be dealt with as an enemy to my crown and our good city.While I am aware that these days have been pressing and downright scary, rest assured that soon, my eldest daughter, Velvet Rose, will be finished with her training as the Guardian of the Realm, ready to defend the city as well as one day, perhaps, replace me as your wise and loving leader.Remember, Citizens of Noctem Castle, I am your guardian, I am your shepard. I will lead you to Aether filled lands where you can feast until your bellies burst… Recently, some of our brothers and sisters have… Forgotten their duty. They have been dealt with efficiently. For a cog that won’t turn has no place in the greater machine. Remember, you just need to obey.As ever, my loving citizens, I watch over and love every one of you.

Velvet Rose is a Vampire Spawn with a loving heart for her partner Onix. When she is not working at Souls & Sundries or Jigoku she will be spending time in some way with Onix, her little Demon Gobbo.While she may be set to inherit a massive castle in her homeland, she struggles with the ideas of keeping herself as Queen, or rebelling against the system that can be used to oppress the people.Her long term goals are to move her house to a colder region of the world and open a Burlesque Show with Onix, to be as known as renown Hyur Sher.

Name: Selene Rose.
Title: Guardian of the Northern Gate to Noctem Castle.
Relationship: Velvet's Second Sister.
Summary: The Second Eldest Daughter to the Rose Family. A skilled red mage with her father's head for strategy. She alone infiltrated the very innermost circle of the Duskbane Rebellion and slowly sown doubt and discontent into their rank.
Name: Lilith Rose.
Title: Guardian of the Eastern Gate to Noctem Castle.
Relationship: Velvet's Third Sister.
Summary: The third daughter to the Rose Family. A reaper with an unholy mission. Void creatures and lesser beings fall to her scythe often, feeding her ever growing need to feed on their Aether.
Name: Vespera Rose.
Title: Guardian of the Southern Gate to Noctem Castle.
Relationship: Velvet's Fourth Sister.
Summary: The fourth daughter to the Rose Family. Vespera is a mad priestess, spreading the Void and her teachings far and wide. Though, every rose has its thorns, Vespera seems to never be lacking a good thorn, or, at least someone to stick one in.
Name: Morwenna Rose.
Title: Guardian of the Western Gate to Noctem Castle.
Relationship: Velvet's Fifth Sister.
Summary: The Fifth and final daughter to the Rose Family. Morwenna suffers from feelings of being the 'runt' of her family. She constantly is pushing herself physically to impress not only her father, but her sisters as well as her people. She has defended Noctem Castle countless times and is credited with the slaying of Nymfron Emberfoot, the in acting leader of the Duskbane Rebellion.
Chapter Two, Escape from Noctem Castle.
When the lower Void creatures had read the letter sent out by Lord Valtheron they were up in arms revolting. Surely the King didn't need such power, let alone the Four Major Gates. Before long there was open fighting in the streets. No one was safe. Noctem Castle fell into a Chaos. Where all the people could do was watch.
Velvet was sent to a separate Keep, Moonstone Keep, a ruin of a place, there she was told she was to be training to take her father's place for the throne of Noctem Castle. It became very clear to her that she was sent away to ensure that her father could secure all of the power in Noctem himself and usher in a new age of a Dictatorship under his iron fist. Velvet would be damned if she was to allow this madness to continue that is when she found it, the portal, it called to her like candy calls to a child. She could nay resist it, and by the time she had managed to get her senses in order, she was already standing in a well lit forest and unaware of the world she was in.
